There are no hierarchies or level systems at Yoga Shelter. All classes are designed for each of us to do what we can so that we can take care of, and get to know ourselves - that is advanced yoga! We encourage students in every class to make adjustments and modifications to suit their individual bodies and needs. At Yoga Shelter we are not into comparing ourselves or competing; we are exploring our practice with the support of community. Until a down dog can save a marriage, or break an addiction, its importance is strictly physical. One should not be considered an advanced yogi because they have a strong upper body, open hips or huge range of motion. The only level we seek to create is a level head and a level heart.
